Network Project Manager (Contract) - SC Cleared
📍 Location: Wokingham (3 days onsite)
📅 Contract Length: 6 months (starting ASAP)
💷 Day Rate: Up to £420 per day (Inside IR35)
Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Network Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex network migration and transformation projects. This role is ideal for a hands-on project manager with a strong networking background who can take ownership of end-to-end delivery and confidently engage with senior stakeholders, internal teams, and external vendors.
The Role
As Network Project Manager, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering network projects from initiation through to completion, ensuring high-quality outcomes within agreed timelines, SLAs, and KPIs.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan, execute, and manage network delivery projects end to end
• Own and manage network migration initiatives, understanding risks and challenges
• Ensure successful delivery of network solutions within agreed SLAs and KPIs
• Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies
• Act as the primary point of contact for internal teams and external suppliers
• Communicate clearly and effectively with stakeholders on status, risks, and issues
• Oversee deployment, configuration, and optimisation of network hardware and software
• Ensure network designs meet performance, scalability, and security requirements
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organisational security policies
Essential Skills & Experience
• Proven experience delivering network migration projects (data centre, WAN/LAN, SD‑WAN, cloud)
• Strong understanding of networking technologies and protocols, including:
• TCP/IP, MPLS, VPN, BGP, OSPF
• Experience with network migration tools and methodologies
• Solid knowledge of ITIL processes and change management
• Proven background in network delivery or network project management
• Strong understanding of LAN/WAN, SD‑WAN, VPNs, firewalls, and related technologies
• Familiarity with project management methodologies (Agile, PMP)
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Experience managing budgets and vendor relationships
Desirable Skills & Experience
• Excellent stakeholder management at all levels
• Ability to challenge senior stakeholders and say “no” diplomatically when required
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong attention to detail and ability to draw conclusions quickly under time pressure
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams without compromising quality
• Experience working within an Infrastructure/Application ITIL-based support environment
• Understanding of business-critical, real-time systems
