Criminal Solicitor / Duty Solicitor
Location: Birmingham

Are you a skilled Criminal Solicitor or Duty Solicitor ready to handle a broad range of challenging cases in a supportive and progressive firm?

Our client, a respected Birmingham law practice, offers an excellent opportunity to advance your advocacy experience, manage complex matters, and develop your career in a dynamic legal environment.
The Role

You will represent clients in all aspects of criminal law, from police station advice to advocacy in the Magistrates’ and Crown Courts. This is a varied, hands-on role, ideal for those looking to make a meaningful difference and strengthen their professional profile.
Key Responsibilities
• Attend police stations and provide expert legal advice to clients under investigation
• Prepare and conduct cases in the Magistrates’ Court, with advocacy opportunities
• Manage files from instruction to resolution
• Build and maintain excellent client relationships, ensuring high standards of service
• Collaborate with colleagues to share knowledge and best practice
About You
• Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with Duty Solicitor status
• Minimum 2 years’ PQE in criminal law at a UK practice
• Strong advocacy, negotiation, and client care skills
• Experience with police station representation and case preparation
• Ability to manage a diverse caseload independently
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
